As one of only four British Horse Society Approved Training Centres in Cornwall we are able to train you for formal BHS Qualifications. These could be to advance your career or purely for your own sense of achievement.
We undergo additional, more rigorous inspections which ensures that our instructors can train students to the standard that we are recognised for; and that our horses are trained to a suitable standard for the work required of candidates at that level.
Training offered includes for the BHS Progressive Riding tests, BHS Stages 1 and 2, PTT and now Riding and Road Safety.
Taken by more than 4,000 candidates a year, the BHS Riding and Road Safety Test helps educate riders in road safety, in order to minimise the risk involved when riding on the roads. The test is available to all riders from 12 years of age and is supported by the Department for Transport. It is probably the only test that any rider will undertake that has the potential to save not only their own life, but that of their horse and other road users as well.
Polmartin Riding is now the only exam centre in the area that takes external candidates. Please see our EVENTS page for dates and details of the next Riding and Road Safety training course and exam.
