For several years Polmartin Riding has been working with schools and other youth organisations such as the Scouts to bring riding to a wider group of youngsters.
Every summer we hold Curriculum Activity and Enrichment weeks for a number of local schools. Students come to us for the week to learn or develop existing riding skills and at the end of the week are assessed and awarded BHS Progressive Riding tests. The week is not just about learning and includes many fun equestrian related activities.
However we are also able to run one or half day activities for schools, including primary schools.
We have also held very successful camps for different scout groups including Explorer and Sea Scouts. As well as riding we are able to organise a range of field craft activities for the scouts during their stay which Polmartin Farm is ideally suited to.
The Sportivate Programme is run in conjunction with the Cornwall Sports Partnership and Sport England. It is aimed at teenagers who are not particularly active or sporty. The six week after school programme takes complete beginners through to the BHS Progressive Riding Test 1 and has been very successful in getting many such teenagers regularly riding.
If you represent a school or youth organisation please CONTACT US to discuss how we can deliver equestrian activities to your students.
